Walworth Castle Launches 1189 Bar & Restaurant!
We were delighted to support our wonderful customer, Walworth Castle, at their recent launch event where they unveiled their stunning new restaurant, 1189 Bar & Kitchen.
We’ve been working with Walworth Castle owners, Chris and Rachel Swain, for a number of years now on the design, build and management of the castle hotel’s website, www.walworthcastle.co.uk, so we were more than happy to support them at their recent launch event.
Over the years, Chris and Rachel have made a number of changes to the 12th century castle to combine its historical charm and features with 21st century convenience. The latest tasteful renovation at Walworth Castle was the transformation of The Farmers Restaurant into 1189 Bar & Kitchen, a brand new restaurant serving a delicious range of locally-sourced dishes and premium lagers, ciders, wines and spirits.
Head chef Steven Myers has crafted a menu which combines traditional plates with local favourites, including Sunday roasts, chicken parmos and cod and chunky chips. With an ‘Early Bird & Bull’ menu available as well, you can grab lunch or an early tea from Monday to Saturday for a bit of a steal!
Jonny and Rosie attended the 1189 Bar & Kitchen launch event at the end of April where we were lucky enough to sample some of the new dishes, take part in a gin making masterclass and check out the fabulous new furnishings. The new-look features new decor and accessories including upholstered bench seating in an eye-catching dark teal, and renovated tables and chairs crafted specifically to fit all the necessary nooks and crannies of the castle’s restaurant. 1189 Bar & Kitchen also maintains some of its more historic features including the medieval-style castle windows surrounding the exterior of the building.
