The oldest and most respected auction house in the North East of England, Thomas Watson was established at the Gallery Salesroom in Darlington in 1840.
For more than 180 years, their reputation has exceeded them, with people from all over the North East visiting the historic premises and depending upon their expert auctioneers and valuers. They primarily assist in the auction and valuation of antiques, jewellery, collectables, and quality furnishings.

Thomas Watson underwent a front-end redesign in 2016, however, their CMS was very out of date with visual limitations and numerous security vulnerabilities.
Therefore, we recommended a full redevelopment on the much more flexible, up to date, and supported Laravel platform to offer longevity and a future-proof solution.
Hush was tasked with the full design and build of a professional and engaging auction website to smoothly facilitate the auctions and provide relevant information to prospective clients.
Key auction functionality modules to help the client host online auctions included an auction catalogue, auction item import, bidding module, and auction search.
Building the new website on the flexible Laravel framework meant that the design was completely bespoke and tailored to the client’s requirements and preferences with full scope.
Once we had imported all old auction and news data from the old website into the new database, a new contemporary website with a fully responsive design was designed and developed.
The goal was for the website to be instantly engaging and intuitive to allow visitors to easily browse information and quickly and easily buy products during live auctions.
The development of an easy to use CMS was important for the client to allow for streamlined management of products, page content, imagery, and other site elements.
