Tees Valley Jobs was commissioned by Tees Valley Combined Authority in March 2021, in response to the Treasury North relocating to Darlington and Teesworks becoming home to the largest Freeport in the UK.
The platform engages local job seekers, covering all industries, to provide them with regularly updated job vacancies and opportunities added by some of the largest employers in the region, from apprenticeships through to public sector.
The service portal also supports over 170 approved Tees Valley businesses, giving access to a talent pool of local job hunters and allowing them to advertise their vacancies. Businesses are able to register for an account and upload their job adverts free of charge.
Due to the relocation of the Treasury North and Teesworks actively providing short and long term employment across the region, there became a need for an intuitive careers search portal that would actively encourage employment in the local area.
On winning the tender, the Hush team were briefed that the website required a simple design that was to be user-friendly, with the capability to advertise and swiftly search for job vacancies in Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, and Stockton.
It was also essential that Tees Valley Jobs have straightforward functionality and features, including ‘Latest Jobs’ and ‘Categories’ sections to ensure that the user experience and navigation be as fluid and fuss-free as possible.
The team at Hush delivered exactly that; a clean-looking careers search portal that is suitable for users of all types.
We created a super simple design interspersed with some more creative elements, seamlessly converted and integrated with a powerful back-end on the WordPress platform.
We also incorporated some fancy additional features, including a 6-filter search function for job seekers with the ability for them to apply via an integrated third-party. The website also powers a screen for TeesWorks, showcasing their featured jobs too.
