Frank’s is the largest independent family-run flooring retailer in the North East, with just under 30 stores across the region. Their offering is simple; they will not be beaten on price and you will not be able to buy flooring for less, anywhere!
The flooring retailer offers a wide range of flooring, including carpet, wood flooring, luxury vinyl tiles, vinyl flooring and laminate flooring, as well as artificial grass for those looking to transform their ‘yarden’ and a selection of rugs to add a fresh new look to a tired-looking area.
Frank’s The Flooring Store needed their digital marketing strategies shaking up, with a fresh injection of creativity and a steady stream of new ideas. They didn’t need out-the-box packages and set tasks, they needed a flexible strategy that would constantly flex and evolve with the needs of the personality-bursting retailer.
Frank’s needed innovative ideas for a traditional market, whilst always delivering core company values and ethos. Their popular and instantly recognisable brand identity and personality needed to be integrated within all content outputs, and both current and new audiences needed to be targeted and engaged with. Digital marketing isn’t just about social media and search engine optimisation for companies like Frank’s, it’s about so much more!
After working with Frank’s for the first 12 months, it became clear that the current Frank’s website was not fit for purpose. It was severely outdated and the page builder plugin it was built on had more bugs in it than an episode of I’m A Celeb! In order to offer a first-class service both online and offline, it was time for Frank’s to bite the bullet and have a new site developed with Hush.

We aren’t about off-the-shelf solutions and love having the full creative freedom to continually generate new ideas and concepts. This is just what Frank’s needed to take their digital marketing to the next level.
With an initial focus on social media and campaign and content creation, we have begun collaborations with Frank’s with a bang, with key achievements within the first month including an 1135% increase in impressions, 1142% increase in engagement, a 103% increase in followers (Instagram) and 82% increase in impressions, 149% increase in engagement and 280% increase in net page likes (Facebook). 58% increase in user traffic, a 60% increase in new users and a 95% increase in social referral traffic (website statistics).
With a tight deadline and a few roadblocks presented by the pandemic, Hush set about designing and developing a totally bespoke, flexible website for Frank’s. The new website was built using the powerful CMS, WordPress, meaning that when Frank’s needed additions making to the new site, they weren’t constricted by template page builders. The new site offers complete flexibility and brand new functionality for Frank’s – adding a new store would take minutes not hours using the powerful system that we built.
We’ve been working with Hush since they won the tender for our marketing contract nearly 18 months ago. Despite a global pandemic, our digital presence has gone from strength to strength on the marketing side, and it was time to apply this to the website to take it to the next level. Their creativity hit the nail on the head pretty much the first time for the website’s new design and the functionality was spot on in streamlining a wide range of processes!
