Our history

In 2017, we celebrated our 20th birthday which was a huge milestone for us. We originally set-up back in 1997 as one of the first web design agencies in the area under the name Intermedia Solutions, before rebranding for the first time in 2004 to become Geonet Solutions. At the time, we were focussed on a particular type of product for a specific market, and the name was a perfect fit.

Our services

Since the very beginning, we’ve offered digital services, obviously with some serious evolution over time! Our service range has gradually covered more and more, from basic web design and web development at the start, to advanced, bespoke software design and the full spectrum of digital marketing services, from SEO to PPC.

Through our journey as Geonet Solutions, we developed from basic web design to high-end, bespoke solutions. This is how we differentiate ourselves from the ever-growing market of web designers; we do digital properly.

Our team

The current company owners are father and son team, Mike and Jonny Overfield, and Rosie Whelpton is our third Director. Jonny was the first to join the company when we were Geonet Solutions in 2008, and he and his father took over the company a couple of years later.

Our Directors made it their mission to change the way we did digital, offering tailored solutions that lasted the long-run. We are now a team of 12, from designers to developers, marketers to managers, all with one major thing in common; we love what we do and we’re extremely good at it.

Our locations

We have always had our headquarters in Darlington, County Durham, even though we have a national client base and can easily service customers all over the UK and even further afield. Back when we were Geonet Solutions, we opened an office in York shortly after Jonny and Mike took over, to expand our bases into Yorkshire. We now have plans to open one or two more offices to support our continued expansion – watch this space!

From Geonet to Hush

We decided that a rebrand had to be on our horizons when we moved our HQ in summer 2016. Geonet Solutions had served us well as a brand for over 10 years at that point, but it hadn’t evolved and grown with us.

We’d achieved everything we set out to so far; we had a great team in place, we had settled in nicely to our stunning new offices, we were offering the full digital service range at a top level and we had some superb clients.

However, Geonet Solutions wasn’t particularly well known – we weren’t the best at shouting about ourselves, we were too busy focussing on promoting our customers! – and we were referred to a number of times as ‘digital’s best kept secret’. This helped us form Hush Digital. We believe we are digital’s best kept secret because we do digital differently; we do it properly and we let our work do the talking.

Although we have a new name and look, we’ve kept some of Geonet’s recognisable elements, including a tough of the pastel pink and we still refer to ourselves as the ‘Bots – we are just the HushBots now rather than the GeoBots!
