Day in the Life of a Web Developer (Lewis)

21 Aug 2018

We have a good bunch of creative and knowledgeable individuals here at Hush from social media savvy digital marketers, creative and driven web designers and focused and super-smart web developers.

We know everything there is to know about our team of HushBots, but we want our clients to know who the people are that will be designing and developing their websites, building their apps and delivering tailored digital marketing packages.

So with that being said, we thought what better way to get to know us than by interviewing another member of our HushTeam.

We sat down with one of our superstar developers, Lewis, to learn about a day in the life of a Web Developer at Hush Digital.

Meet Lewis

Do you have a work nickname?
Lew, or Lew-dog.

How many years have you worked in web development?
3 years in web development.

How many years have you worked at Hush?
2. I actually just celebrated 2 years at Hush last month.

What made you want to work in web development?
Well, when I was in college I did software development. I did lots of different modules and web development was my favourite one so I went online and did a lot of tutorials and courses and expanded my knowledge. It wasn’t too long after this I decided that web development is what I wanted to do at university and I came out with a first class honours degree in BA Web and Multimedia.

What’s your favourite part(s) about your job?

Most exciting/favourite project you’ve worked on?
Oh, that’s a hard question. I always enjoy working on a lot of our older website to help support them the best I can. I think my favourite websites that I’ve worked on are Rag & Doll, Darlington Carmel or Teesside Hospice because the website builds were all really fun, they challenged me and tested my abilities. I always look forward to starting new projects as well as answering and aiding in any support tickets that the studio receives. The world of web is always changing so it keeps me on my toes.

The most challenging part about web development?
Not having enough hours in the day to get everything done when I want. Oh and also all the different browsers and rendering engines that you have to consider.
